COLLINS DAUDA IS A DISGRACE TO PARLIAMENT

It is high time this old fox of an MP, Collins Dauda, disembroilled himself from his tribal dogmatism. Having gone to Parliament for many years, one would have expected that his advanced years could dictate to him to offload certain traits which are inimical to the peace and unity of the very people he has led over the years. This bigot of an MP still dwells, sadly, in the dark ages. He still rides to the top using ethnocentricism. Collins Dauda, in a speech, has appealed to the people of northern descent not to pitch camps with the NPP since the party doesn't like the progress of Northerners. Maybe the many MPs from the north on the ticket of the NPP are not true Northerners! I  am sure that Dr. Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic, is from Nzema. The Hassan Tampulis, Awal Mohammeds, Amin Antahs are from the Ashanti Region! To him, the NDC is the party for the people of the north. Ms Elizabeth Ohene writes: Our public functions go on for too long. Okay, this is not exactly a new or particularly profound observation. Anybody who attends a public function in this country knows this, has complained about it and we live with it. This past week, I attended a number of public events and I have been thinking I would put my mind to finding ways in which we could save some time at these functions. I have no idea how we came by the practice of enumerating every identifiable group for mention in the greetings at the beginning of the speeches. Council of State members, honourable ministers, honourable members of Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional rulers, clergy, Niimei, Naamei, Nananom, Togbewo, Mamawo, fellow Ghanaians, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, and then All protocols observed.
